The eighth generation (2023-)
• Appearance design: Whether it is the fuel powered 5 Series or the pure electric i5, the design style is basically the same, and both offer two appearances: luxury package and M sport package. The overall size is relatively large, and the length of the standard wheelbase version is close to the level of the long wheelbase E-Class and A6L, with a length of nearly 5.2 meters.

• Rear space: Thanks to its elongated design, the rear space is ample. The previously exclusive 31 inch 8K large screen in the Chinese market was available as an optional configuration, and only the high-end "Premium" model can be selected. The optional price for the fuel powered 5 Series is 33800 yuan, while the pure electric i5 requires 45800 yuan due to the combination of the 8K large screen with full-color HUD, 5G car networking, and four temperature zone air conditioning.
• Power system: The fuel version of the 5 Series is equipped with a 2.0T engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, providing high and low power versions. Currently, only rear wheel drive is available, and xDrive four-wheel drive models will be launched in the future. The pure electric i5, domestically produced long wheelbase version adopts single motor drive, while the imported high-performance M60 adopts dual motor four-wheel drive. The domestic version of i5 edrive35l model is equipped with a 79.05kWh CATL ternary lithium battery, with a low-end CLTC pure electric range of 567km and a high-end CLTC range of 536km. The imported version of the i5 M60 model is equipped with an 81.2kWh ternary lithium battery and a CLTC pure electric range of 570km. When using the Supercharging Station to charge the domestically produced i5, it can achieve a charging power of 200kw, and it only takes 32 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
• Configuration differences:
525li model: Even the most entry-level 525li model has decent configuration. In addition to conventional LED headlights, reverse, and reverse image, it also comes standard with L2 level assisted driving, track reversing, electric tailgate, heated front seats, Harman Kardon sound system, wireless charging for mobile phones, and other features.

It also adds 360 degree panoramic imaging, automatic anti glare exterior mirrors, and keyless entry in the front row.
